GENERAL QUESTIONS

The minimum starting balance is 1000$ USD but we highly recommend 2000$ – 3000$ USD to have plenty of room for Genesis to be able to do its thing!

While it could run with a 500$ balance, it would be REALLY RISKY when the market moves against you because you would have no margin left to get properly out of your positions.

In the Forex market, most major trends happen after news events so it’s really important to avoid trading while they’re ongoing and at least a few hours after they have ended. Happily for you, you don’t need to worry about that because Genesis takes care of everything! It will close your trades in time before news events and wait for a certain window of time before it starts trading as it would normally do.

There is no possible way for us to guarantee a specific return on investment as we do not control the market. Genesis takes advantage of multiple trading opportunities on the Forex Market to make your account grow steadily while protecting it. Keep in mind that with any trading of any kind, only trade with money you can afford to lose. There is always a certain level of risk involved.

We offer a 14-Day Trial for you to be able to test out our product and see if it fits your own personal objectives and goals.

It’s important to note that you have full control over your trades so if you close them, place manual trades or you interfere in anyway with Genesis, you could potentially lose money.

You can choose to work with any broker you want but we suggest working with our recommended brokers as all our backtesting and live trading have been done using them.

Our 2 top brokers are Vantage FX (for customers outside of USA) and Coinexx (for customers located in USA and other regions not covered by Vantage FX).

We have an established partnership with those 2 brokers which allows us to get premium support and service. As a customer, you have one of the best spread available on the market, minimal slippage and low commission fees.

The reason we use Vantage FX for most accounts is for their proven methods, stellar customer service and their many regulations that protects you, the customer. Vantage FX is being overseered by the ASIC of Australia, the National Australia Bank and has and Indemnity Insurance. Not many brokers offer this all in one package. In order to provide for clients outside Australia, they have a division operating in the Cayman Islands regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA). On a separate note, to ensure the safety of your funds, everything will be held in a National Australia Bank (NAB). Vantage FX provides a better profit margin than Coinexx but doesn’t cover every countries of the world (i.e. United States of America).

As for Coinexx, some parts of the world are not covered by Vantage FX’s services so we found another good, but not regulated, broker. Although not governed by similar entities as Vantage FX, Coinexx also provides funding and trading in Cryptocurrencies.

Technically yes we could but only after having the investing power of millions of dollars or more. As a Forex trading A.I. provider, the only thing we can do is provide the A.I. to our clients to allow them an edge in this complicated market.

Your money is your own from start to finish. You have full control over your trades, whether you want to open new ones or close existing ones. When you deposit money in your broker’s account, your money is with them. It works just like a regular bank account. You have access to your money at any given time. You can fund or withdraw your money whenever you decide based on how the broker’s company operates. For more info on that, please refer to your broker’s customer service.

Your personal informations will be taken care off by the companies that operate with us and are already trusted brands across the globe. We do not store any sensitive informations aside from your contact informations (name, phone and email address).

For your credit card information for paying your monthly fees with us, Stripe and Paypal are the ones that takes care of that. As for your other informations with your broker, either Vantage FX, Coinexx or any other broker that you selected, they will be the ones that are in charge of them.

In case you forgot your password, simply visit the My Account section of our website and use the Lost your password? link. If you lost your username, on the same page you can also login with the email address you used to create your account. If you can’t remember both your password and username/email address, contact us and our support team will assist you.

All commissions are paid once a month every 15th of the month. It can take up to 7 business days to receive your money.

Make sure you first properly setup your Payment Settings from your customer portal. Access the following link : Payment Settings and enter your PayPal E-mail Address in the corresponding field and hit SAVE :

For any questions regarding your broker, please refer directly to them via live chat or support tickets from their customer service.

We are not authorized to give any advice in the legal or financial areas. Please refer to your financial advisor, accountant, fiscalist or lawyer or any qualified person in those fields.

By default Genesis trades 24/7 (while the market is opened) but we recommend running it only from Monday 10:00 (EST) to Thursday 17:00 (EST). We try to avoid Friday and Sunday as much as possible as they tend to be really volatile and we try not to carry trades over the weekend to avoid swap fees. If you decide to trade 24/7, we recommend a balance of 3000$ USD to have plenty of margin when volatility is at its peak.

According to the dictionary, an A.I. is the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. In other words, Genesis (our trading A.I.) performs tasks that normally a person would be doing such as evaluating the market conditions, following events, opening and closing trades etc.

Automated systems (bots or algorithm) will follow rules established by a human operator, while Artificial Intelligence is designed to learn and adapt on its own such as evaluating the market conditions, following events, opening and closing trades etc.

MetaTrader is a one of the most commonly used trading platform. Once it’s installed and connected to your broker’s account, you can follow your trades and manually (at your own risks) open and close trades.

For this type of sensitive matter, we highly recommend to seek professional guidance from your financial advisor, accountant, fiscalist or lawyer or any qualified person in those fields to avoid making a decision you might regret or take to hastily.

No. From the get go, Forex Investing is exactly that, an investment.
As any investments, there are risks associated to them and trading with an A.I. doesn’t make them risk free in any way, shape or form.

Investments take time to build and be made profitable. Investing with our A.I. doesn’t change that.

Genesis uses fixed lot size, starting at 0.01 and auto increasing gradually when it needs to dollar cost averages (0.02, 0.03 and so on). With that being said, if you want to make more money out of Genesis, you might want to use additional broker accounts and purchase additional licenses of Genesis. We offer a 50% discount on all additional licenses.

On average Genesis makes between 300$ to 500$ (in your account currency) on a monthly basis and we recommend between 2000$ – 3000$ USD per license. So as an example. if you have 9000$ USD to invest, we would recommend ordering 3 licenses of Genesis, with the extra two at 50% off.

If you want to order extra licenses, please use our contact form.

By using Genesis, you will quickly notice that it places both long (buy) and short (sell) positions at the same time. This strategy is called Hedging. Playing on both sides may sound bizarre but the purpose is to protect your account by limiting your exposure to one-sided positions.

Imagine you have multiple buy positions and the market goes against you, it will increase your drawdown. However if you have sell positions opened at the same time, it will limit your drawdown because you will be in profit with your sell positions.

Genesis will then smartly close those positions in a way to secure profits on both sides.

You have a 50% drawdown and it’s driving you crazy? First of all, if you have our recommended balance (2000$ – 3000$ USD), it would be an extremely rare case when the market is insanely volatile. But nothing is impossible as we cannot predict the future.

So what to do in a situation like that? You have two solutions :

  • Let Genesis works its magic and let it recover by itself. This is not a financial advice but on our own accounts, if a major drawdown would occur, we would add more funds to increase our margin level and therefore give more room to Genesis to recover.
  • You close all your positions either from your VPS or with the mobile MetaTrader 4 app (hold your finger on each position and touch Close order). Please note that by closing your trades, you don’t automatically prevent Genesis from placing additional trades. If you want Genesis to completely stop from placing new trades and managing your current trades, you MUST close MetaTrader from your VPS or shutdown your VPS.

In order to modify or cancel your subscription(s), please head to the My Subscriptions section of your customer portal. My Account -> Login -> My Subscriptions.

As mentioned in the LOT SIZE EXPLANATION section of the FAQ, Genesis uses fixed lot size because of its algorithm so you will need multiple broker accounts and licenses to increase your profits from Genesis.

When you order our custom VPS from FXVM, you can run up to two instances of MetaTrader 4 on it. It’s really important that you only run one broker instance per VPS. So if you are currently running Vantage FX MT4, you will need to run Coinexx MT4 or any other broker’s MT4 software.

Running two instances of the same broker’s MT4 software can create ressources conflict and therefore alter Genesis functionalities.

  • Click on Create Monitor.

Before proceeding with the installation of Genesis, first make sure that your broker’s account is opened and funded and that your VPS is ordered and active. We also offer to set you up FOR FREE if you are not really into the technical stuff! Simply fill out our form on the Contact us page and write “Free Setup” as the subject.

  1. The first step is to register your Metatrader ID (Login) into your customer portal. To do so, head to the Metatrader ID section of our website (you will have to login first to access this section). Here you have to enter your MetaTrader ID (MT4 Login) that you received by email by your broker. It is composed of digits only and the length may vary according to your broker. We need that information to be able to generate a license key and bound it to your ID. If you create a new MT4 account, simply change it there and if you want to run Genesis on multiple MT4 accounts, please contact our support to get a special discounted price for your additional accounts.
  2. Connect remotely to your VPS with the credentials that you received by email from FXVM (or the VPS Hosting company that you chose). On the same email where you have your credentials, you should find a link in the first step in the Steps To Open Your VPS section. Follow the next 2 steps to establish a connection to your VPS. If you are using OSX (Apple computers), please download their version of Remote Desktop.
  3. If you are asked to install Windows updates, do so and follow the instructions on screen. Make sure that you wait for the end of the download and installation of the updates and proceed to a reboot as prompted.
  4. Now that you are connected to your VPS, Vantage MT4 will automatically launch. If you have your own broker, please refer to them for the installation instructions.
  5. Login to your MT4 with your live or demo account (a demo account acts exactly the same way as a live account, except it uses fake money. This way you can get a great idea of what to expect from Genesis when you will run it on a live account). Make sure that you select the same server as the one specified in your logins email.
    vantage fx credentials
  6. Now simply double-click on Genesis – Long from the Navigator pane.
  7. You will then have the following window appearing. Make sure that you check all the boxes except the Disable alert once hit. For the positions, select Only Long.
  8. Now head to the Inputs and change the settings per your need. Here is the explanation of all options :
    • SerialKey : Here you have to copy and paste the license key that you received by email upon purchasing Genesis. If you did not receive it, please contact us.
    • MaxSpread : That is the max spread that Genesis will accept to place new trades. By default it’s set to 15. As an example. if there is a 20 points spread, Genesis will not place any trades.
    • FirstTradeTakeProfit : That is the Take Profit setting of the first trade of the sequence. Since Genesis dollar cost averages, that Take Profit setting will only apply to the first trade of the sequence. Default setting is 30.
    • Stop Trading on Weekend : Default setting is false. By setting it to true, it will prevent Genesis from placing new trades outside the schedule defined in the First Day of Trading, First Hour of First Day of Trading, Last Day of Trading and Last Hour of Last Day of Trading inputs.
    • Close Trades on Weekend : Default setting is false. By setting it to true, it will close all your opened trades according to the Weekend Percentage Close input and to the First Day of Trading, First Hour of First Day of Trading, Last Day of Trading and Last Hour of Last Day of Trading inputs.
    • Weekend Percentage Close : Default value is 0. This is the max percentage (based on your account balance) of loss that you are willing to take by letting Genesis close all your opened trades before the weekend. If you set it to 1 and you have a 1000$ balance, if the total loss of your opened positions is of 10$ (1% of 1000$) or less, Genesis will close all your trades. By letting it at the default value (0), it will only close your trades in breakeven.
    • First Day of Trading : Default value is 1 (1 = Monday). This is the first day of trading.
    • First Hour of First Day of Trading : Default value is 16 (16 = 4 PM according to your broker. This is 9 AM EST for Vantage FX). This is the first hour of trading.
    • Last Day of Trading : Default value is 4 (4 = Thursday). This is the last day of trading.
    • Last Hour of Last Day of Trading : Default value is 23 (23 = 11 PM according to your broker. This is 5 PM EST for Vantage FX). This is the last hour of trading.

    • Start After News (mins): Default value is 240. It means that 240 minutes (4 hours) after an event is finished (event types are defined in the inputs in the NEWS_IMPACT section of Genesis), Genesis will start placing new trades again.
    • Allow Close on News Times : Default value is true. When set to true, it will allow Genesis to close all your trades during news events (according to the schedule defined in the Stop Before News (mins) and Start After News (mins) inputs) but only if the value of the Max Loss Percentage input is met. See right below what this value does.
    • Max Loss Percentage. Default value is 0. Just like the Weekend Percentage Close input, This is the max percentage (based on your account balance) of loss that you are willing to take by letting Genesis close all your opened trades during a news event. If you set it at 1 and you have a 1000$ balance, if the total loss of your opened positions is of 10$ (1% of 1000$) or less, Genesis will close all your trades. By letting it at the default value (0), it will only close your trades in breakeven.
    • News Currencies: This is the list of the currencies that Genesis will use to filter the news. By default it’s set to EUR,USD only because we only recommend trading the EURUSD pair. If you trade other currencies, make sure to add them here.
    • High Impact : Default value is true. When set to true, it will filter all High Impact News from Forex Factory.
    • High Impact List : This input works conjointly with the High Impact input. This is the list of keywords to use to filter the High Impact News Events.
    • Medium Impact : See the High Impact input, it does the exact same thing but for Medium Impact News Events.
    • Medium Impact List : See the High Impact List input, it does the exact same thing but for Medium Impact News Events.
    • Low Impact : See the High Impact input, it does the exact same thing but for Low Impact News Events.
    • Low Impact list : See the High Impact List input, it does the exact same thing but for Low Impact News Events.
    • Non-Economic : Same as the High Impact, Medium Impact and Low Impact inputs, it will filter all Non-Economic News Events.
  9. You now have Genesis running on long positions only (Buys). Since the logic of Genesis only allows to run on one side at the time, you have the option to let Genesis trades short positions also (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). For that purpose, repeat steps 6 to 8. There are only two differences :

In the Common tab, choose Only Short for the positions.

At Step 6, make sure you double-click on Genesis – Short this time by having the other chart selected (to select the other chart, simply click anywhere on it).

  10. Click the arrange button on the top of the screen (7th button to the right of Auto Trading button) in order to place your two EURUSD charts side by side.
    auto arrange
  11. (DO THAT STEP ONLY IF YOU USE ANOTHER BROKER THAN VANTAGE FX) Press Windows key + E (the windows key on your keyboard is the one at the lower left with the Windows logo between CTRL and ALT) to open up the File Explorer and browse to the following folder (the folder path will be different according to your broker) : C:\Program Files (x86)\Coinexx MT4) and right-click on terminal.exe, click on Copy.
  12. (DO THAT STEP ONLY IF YOU USE ANOTHER BROKER THAN VANTAGE FX) Press Windows key + R, type in shell:startup and press Enter. From this folder, first delete the Vantage FX MT4 shortcut, then right-click anywhere in the folder and click on Paste Shortcut. This will make sure that Coinexx MT4 (or the broker you chose) fires up when the VPS reboots.
  13. Run AutoLogon.exe program that is located in the C:\AutoLogon\ directory.
  14. Put your VPS username (trader by default) and password into AutoLogon. Do not touch the Domain field. You received this information by email from FXVM (or the VPS provider you chose). Once done press Enable.
  15. Genesis is now installed! You can now close all opened windows (except Metatrader) to clear up some space on your screen.
  16. At this point you can disconnect from your VPS. To do so, click on the X button located on the top blue middle menu bar.
  17. Now it’s not really convenient to connect to your VPS every time you want to follow your trades so we would highly recommend that you download the MetaTrader 4 app from either the Google Play Store or from the App Store on your phone and/or tablet.
  18. To add your live account, launch the app and tap on the top left menu icon then tap on Manage accounts.
  19. Click on the “+” sign at the top right then type in your broker server (see the screenshot at step 4 for that information) into the Find broker search field.
  20. Enter your Login and Password that you received from you broker (see the screenshot at step 4 for that information), leave the server as is and tap on LOGIN.
  21. Should you have any questions or issues with this setup guide, do not hesitate to use our online chat at the bottom right of our website or fill-in our contact form.

  8. The downloaded files should now be located in your Downloads folder on your VPS (Usually : C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads). Right-click on Genesis – Long.ex4 and click Copy.
  9. In your MT4 platform (Vantage or Coinexx) > Click File > Open data folder. Now browse to the MQL4 > Experts folder then right-click file and click Paste.
  10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 for Genesis – Short.ex4.
  11. Once you do that, from your MT4 platform, right-click on the Expert Advisors tab inside the Navigator and click Refresh. Now Genesis – Long and Genesis – Short should be sitting in your Navigator.
  12. Close all chart windows that you see at your right so you have a blank canvas.

  13. You now have to add our optimized pair, EURUSD. In order to do so, from the Market Watch section at your left, first delete all the pairs that are currently there by selecting them one by one and click on the DELETE key on your keyboard.
  14. You now have to add EURUSD (For Vantage FX, you must add EURUSD+ and not EURUSD) by clicking in the empty space right below the Symbol column into the Market Watch section.

  20. You now have Genesis running on long positions only (Buys). Since the logic of Genesis only allows to run on one side at the time, you have the option to let Genesis trades short positions also (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). For that purpose, repeat steps 14 to 19. There are only two differences :

In the Common tab, choose Only Short for the positions.

At Step 17, make sure you double-click on Genesis – Short this time by having the other chart selected (to select the other chart, simply click anywhere on it).

  21. Click the arrange button on the top of the screen (7th button to the right of Auto Trading button) in order to place your two EURUSD charts side by side.
    auto arrange
  22. Press Windows key + E (the windows key on your keyboard is the one at the lower left with the Windows logo between CTRL and ALT) to open up the File Explorer and browse to the following folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Vantage FX Trader (for Coinexx it’s C:\Program Files (x86)\Coinexx MT4) and right-click on terminal.exe, click on Copy.
  23. Press Windows key + R, type in shell:startup and press Enter. From this folder, right-click and click on Paste Shortcut. This will make sure that MT4 fires up when the VPS reboots.
  24. Run AutoLogon.exe program that is located in the C:\AutoLogon\ directory.
  25. Put your VPS username (trader by default) and password into AutoLogon. Do not touch the Domain field. You received this information by email from FXVM (or the VPS provider you chose). Once done press Enable.
  26. Genesis is now installed! You can now close all opened windows (except Metatrader) to clear up some space on your screen.
  27. We recommend rebooting  your VPS once every day (ideally between 17:00 – 17:15 EST when the market is closed) to ensure it always runs smoothly. We made a custom script for Windows for this purpose that reboots your VPS at 17:00 EST everyday. You can download it here : Auto Reboot Script. Look at the top right on the screen to download it :
  28. Open up Tasks Scheduler on your VPS (Windows key + R and type taskschd.msc and press Enter). Click on Action —> Import Task…
  29. Open up the auto-reboot.xml file you just downloaded :
  30. Click on this button : :
  31. Type in trader and press on Check Names :
  32. You should now see your full username as follow. Press OK :
  33. Exit out of Create Task windows by clicking OK :
  34. At this point you can disconnect from your VPS. To do so, click on the X button located on the top blue middle menu bar.
  35. Now it’s not really convenient to connect to your VPS every time you want to follow your trades so we would highly recommend that you download the MetaTrader 4 app from either the Google Play Store or from the App Store on your phone and/or tablet.
  36. To add your live account, launch the app and tap on the top left menu icon then tap on Manage accounts.
  37. Click on the “+” sign at the top right then type in your broker server (see the screenshot at step 4 for that information) into the Find broker search field.
  38. Enter your Login and Password that you received from you broker (see the screenshot at step 4 for that information), leave the server as is and tap on LOGIN.
  39. Should you have any questions or issues with this setup guide, do not hesitate to use our online chat at the bottom right of our website or fill-in our contact form.

Genesis lets you change its default schedule to suit your needs. By default Genesis trades whenever the market is opened (from Sunday 17:00 EST to Friday 17:00 EST). However, most traders avoid trading from Sunday to Monday morning and Friday because they are the most volatile periods. Here is how to adjust the schedule :

  2. Left Click on the smiley face at the top right of the EURUSD chart of Genesis – Long.
  3. You will now see the Expert windows popping up. Browse to the Inputs tab.
  4. Scroll down until you see the following settings :

  5. Once you are done modifying the settings, click on the OK button.
  6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 but this time for Genesis – Short.
  7. At this point you can disconnect from your VPS. To do so, click on the X button located on the top blue middle menu bar.
